The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) has once again earned national recognition, winning the Purpose-Built Convention & Exhibition Centre Excellence Award – Total Saleable Space 15,000 sqm & Below at the prestigious Malaysia Business Events Week (MBEW) Awards 2025.
Presented by the Malaysian Association of Convention and Exhibition Organisers and Suppliers (MACEOS), the award honours exceptional performance, service excellence, and meaningful contributions to Malaysia’s business events industry.

Accepting the award, BCCK Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Rayner Simon, dedicated the recognition to the unwavering support of Business Events Sarawak, Sarawak Tourism Board, Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), valued clients, and industry collaborators.

Driving Economic Impact for Sarawak
In 2024, BCCK hosted over 519 events and welcomed more than 30,000 delegates, generating an estimated RM289 million in direct economic impact for the local economy. This ripple effect supported Sarawak’s hospitality, tourism, retail, transport, and F&B sectors while creating jobs and business opportunities for the local community.
A Strong Pipeline of Events for 2025 and Beyond
BCCK’s robust events calendar ensures sustained economic and industry benefits for the state. Confirmed upcoming events for 2025 include Borneo Roads, Traffic and Transportation Expo (BRTTE) 2025, Rabies in Borneo 2025, World Veterinary Poultry Association Congress 2025, Sarawak Renewable Energy Forum (SAREF) 4.0 and National Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS) Conference 2025.
Looking ahead to 2026, BCCK has already secured several high-profile conferences, including 3rd International Traditional Natural Medical Physicians Conference, 2nd Asia Pacific Green Hydrogen Conference and Exhibition (APGH) 2026, 10th Chinese Congress on World Evangelism, World Polymer Congress - IUPAC MACRO 2026, Asian Conference on Occupational Health (ACOH 2026), among others.
This latest accolade reaffirms Sarawak’s growing prominence as a preferred destination for world-class business events. With a strong track record, robust partnerships, and an exciting pipeline, BCCK remains committed to driving economic growth, creating lasting legacies, and elevating Sarawak’s profile on the global stage.
Borneo Convention Centre Kuching 2 (BCCK 2) – Elevating Sarawak’s Global Event Presence
Slated to open in 2028, The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching 2 (BCCK2) will sit beside the existing centre, linked by a fully air-conditioned bridge and surrounded by the scenic landscape of the Sarawak River. This expansion is designed to meet growing international demand, offering even greater capacity, enhanced flexibility, and a seamless experience for organisers and delegates alike.
BCCK2 will feature larger, open spaces filled with natural light, panoramic views, and a design inspired by Sarawak’s lush environment. It will include a grand main hall, a multi-purpose hall, and more breakout rooms, bringing the total across both centres to 34. A five-level carpark with over 1,000 bays and EV charging stations will also ensure convenience for all guests.
Together, BCCK and BCCK2 will redefine the business events experience in Sarawak, bringing people together, sparking new ideas, and shaping a future where connections lead to lasting legacy impact.
