BCCK WELCOMES ON BOARD DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AND SENIOR RESEARCH & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) announced the appointment of Nicolette Elia as its Director of Operations and Lim Jing Qi as the Senior Research and Business Development Executive.

BCCK Chief Executive Director, Eric Van Piggelen said, “We are pleased to welcome Nicolette and Jing Qi on board. Our team will benefit from their extensive experience in the business events field.”

Nicolette will lead the BCCK operations team in covering the front and back of house to serve the needs of clients, conference delegates and visitors to the convention centre. Nicolette’s role will see her work closely with the heads of event planning, culinary, banquet, audio visual technical services, stewarding, security services and housekeeping.

Born and raised in South Africa, Nicolette started off her career with an exhibition organiser based in Johannesburg, managing both national exhibitions and international pavilions after which she held the position as Operations Director at the Durban International Convention Centre, South Africa. Prior to her career with BCCK, she was working at Paris for UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.

“My passion lies in operations and within the industry itself, what excites me is the ongoing growth and development potential the industry holds. The industry is dynamic, creative and enjoyable which constantly inspires and motivates me. I look forward to working together with my peers and the dedicated team members of BCCK, to continue innovating and enhancing what BCCK has to offer both locally and internationally”, said Nicolette.

Jing Qi, graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce major in Accounting, was born and raised in Taiping, Perak. She worked as a Business Development Senior Executive in Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) for 7 years before joining BCCK as a Senior Research and Development Executive.

“BCCK has given me an opportunity to delve into a different aspect of Business Events. I am excited and eager to share my years of experience and skills obtained from my previous employment with MyCEB with BCCK”, said Jing Qi.

Based in Kuala Lumpur, Jing Qi’s role is to enhance customer relationship with key associations’ clients and to research and identify potential business for BCCK. During her free time, she likes to bake and read.
