BCCK CHRISTMAS AND CHINESE NEW YEAR PROMOTION LAUNCH

The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching launched its 2019 Christmas and 2020 Chinese New Year promotions on the 11th of November, featuring a grand display of food and cheer.

The launch included seasonal decorations, food displays for both the Isthmus Christmas promotional menu and the Chinese New Year menu in 2020, a Yee Sang toss as well as an appearance by Santa and the God of Prosperity.

The Christmas season is just around the corner and BCCK’s Isthmus Christmas is offering an array of feasting options throughout the month of December and into the New Year.

ISTHMUS CHRISTMAS

A four-course set lunch is available from 1st to 31st December this year, offering delicacies like Oven Roasted Turkey Ballotine, Grill Ribeye with Mexican Pimento or Greek Style baked hake Fish as main courses, along with mouth-watering desserts like souffle au chocolate and fresh homemade ice cream. Set lunches are priced at RM59nett for online bookings and RM65nett for walk-ins.

The Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner on the 24th of December is priced at RM120nett for adults through online booking and RM140nett for walk-ins, with children between 5-12 years old charged RM60nett for both online and walk-in. The buffet offers a vast selection to choose from, with its fresh salad bar and hot tureen of Seafood chowder, to the ‘Chilled on ice’ selection, smoked station, carvery station, on-the-spot Wok section as well as a selection from Eastern and Western inspired dishes.

Throughout the buffet, diners can witness a chef in action at the carvery station, where they will carve and prepare delicious meats such as oven baked Gordon whole turkey accompanied with assorted pepper & honey root vegetables, roasted whole lamb leg glazed with BBQ rub and rosemary-garlic oven baked herb crusted topside beef, along with a selection of black pepper, cranberry, giblet and mint sauce.

The Christmas Day Set Dinner on 25th December is priced at RM230nett per couple and RM115nett per person. Diners can also ring in 2020 with BCCK’s New Year’s Eve Dinner Buffet on the 31st of December this year costs RM100nett per adult and RM50nett per child, for both online and walk-ins.

The Christmas Day Dinner offers Asian Pilaf rice, a roasted whole chicken leg with a choice of sauces, baked turmeric fish with Indonesian sambal wrapped in banana leaves, with additional items available for order such as a whole roasted chicken or duck and BBQ sirloin steak.

One of the main attractions at the New Year’s Eve Dinner Buffet is the “Smokey Station” which offers California-cut chicken with a selection of the Raintree Restaurant’s special rubs, Thai fish fillet with local basil prepared in a banana leaf, as well as mint-BBQ lamb shoulder, with assorted dips to choose from. Made fresh and on the spot, guests can also order Kuching Style fried Kueh Teow.

For those with a sweet tooth, sweet Christmas indulgences can be enjoyed throughout December during the Isthmus Christmas, with temptations like salted caramel swiss brownies, passion fruit cheese cake, Yule logs as well as Christmas puddings and pies.

CHINESE NEW YEAR

The Grand Reunion Buffet Dinner on the 24th January next year offers a grand time with family and friends, with vouchers costing just RM88nett for adults and RM38 for children, between the ages of 5-12 years old, if booked online. Walk-ins are at RM100nett for adults and RM50nett for children.

Chinese New Year staples such as roasted chicken, pak lo duck, fried nian gao and tang yuan are available at the reunion buffet stalls, as well as chicken and beef satay, noodles, ABC and cendol, bubur barli, Eight Treasure dessert, lotus soup, chikuteh soup, roasted lamb, Sarawak laksa, and Taiwan fried dumplings.

Hot Items include favourites such as prawn with oats, salted egg fish fillet, dabai fried rice, nyonya chicken curry as well as other dishes like ayam pansuh, beef rendang, steamed glutinous rice, vegetarian vegetable curry, pak lo duck, yong chow fried rice and broccoli with mushroom.

Traditional desserts like mandarin oranges and pineapple tarts are accompanied by an assortment of cupcakes, crème caramel, tiramisu, fresh fruits, assorted puddings and sago gula melaka, for those looking to have a sweet Chinese New Year.

For Chinese New Year Lunch and Dinner, which takes place on the 25th January to 8th February, bookings must be made ahead of time latest on 19th January 2020, for just RM788 nett. Chinese New Year offsite catering is also available, with offerings such as marinated chicken salad, dabai friend rice, siam fried beehoon, chicken rendang, Pak Lo duck, deep fried fish fillet with sweat black pepper sauce for just RM88net per person, with a minimum of 30 people.

For just RM98nett per person, BCCK also offers offsite catering of marinated seafood salad, chicken and pineapple salad, mee mamak, beef and chicken satay, prawn with oats, ayam masak merah, braised assortment of mushroom.

Desserts for both promotions include mixed fruit platters, assorted puddings, assorted kek lapis and longan with sea coconut.
