CHRISTMAS CHEER THIS HOLIDAY SEASON AT BCCK

The Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) hosted their 9th annual Isthmus Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on 6th December to usher in the festive holiday season and give back to the local community.
A group of 83 young children from The Salvation Army Kuching Children’s home and Boy’s Home together with their wardens, as well as 35 special-needs working adults from Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) were invited to attend the ceremony.
The event was attended by the Executive Director of BCCK, Tan Sri Wilson Baya Dandot, CEO of BCCK Eric Van Piggelen and members of the senior management and staff of BCCK.
BCCK has a long history of charity in the Kuching community and has contributed to local CSR causes, partners and charities since 2009 since it first opened its doors.
The evening began with cupcake decorating, followed by a welcoming speech by Tan Sri Wilson Baya Dandot, as he addressed the guests and wished them a happy new year.
“As 2019 comes to a close, it is good to wrap up the year with a month of joy and cheer before the coming new year. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the BCCK Management team, I wish everyone here tonight success in their studies, in their work, and in everything they aspire towards in the year 2020.”
The ceremony then continued with the lighting of the Christmas Trees to mark the beginning of the festive holiday season, followed by a performance by the BCCK staff.
The Salvation Army Children’s Choir then performed their Christmas Carols, ushering in the Christmas cheer and festive spirit for the month of December.
The evening’s highlight was the presentation of the Christmas gifts to the Salvation Army children. After the group photos taking, the children and fellow attendees were invited to savour a sumptuous array of the Christmas buffet at the Raintree Restaurant.
Meanwhile, the Isthmus Christmas set course lunch is now available at the BCCK till the end of December, with the Christmas Day set dinner on the 25th of December.
Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve dinner buffets are also on the menu, with a vast offering of festive food for diners.
