BCCK welcomes a new Director of Operations

Kuching: The Borneo Convention Centre (BCCK) has announced the appointment of Mark Enslin as the organisation’s new Director of Operations, where he will be responsible for overseeing BCCK’s culinary department, set up, services, audio visual, safety and security, as well as housekeeping. Mark will work alongside newly appointed operations manager, Wan Azranizal.

Mark has previously held various leadership positions in the hotel and convention business since 1994. Prior to joining BCCK, he served as Director of Operations at Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and as operations director at Durban International Convention Centre (Durban ICC) in South Africa.

Mark intends to lead BCCK’s operation team to live out to its full potential. “I’m thrilled to be joining BCCK, and I’m looking forward to be working with such an experienced team. My plan is to ensure that we achieve our goals for the Centre and to gain more internationally recognised awards.” said Mark.

Wan Azranizal joins from Sime Darby Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur, where he held the position as banquet operation and catering sales manager, which played a huge role in the operations. Wan brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to BCCK. “I would especially like to focus on operations and building a good relationship with all our guests.” Wan added.

BCCK at the same time welcomes Chef Eric Lim as the new Sous Chef for The Raintree Restaurant. Chef Eric has over 10 years of culinary experience and formerly worked as Executive Chef for the Serapi Group of Companies. Throughout his career, Chef Eric has expanded his expertise in authentic Japanese cuisine and Japanese Wagyu beef in Singapore.

“My next target for The Raintree Restaurant is, that it will not only serve Western food but we will bring out multi-racial food such as Asian, a twist from Japanese cuisine and probably middle Eastern. And not to forget our local Sarawak ingredients such as Lada Sarawak, Terung Asam, Cangkuk Manis, etc to incorporate into modern cuisine” said Chef Eric.

“We are very honoured to welcome each one of them to our team at BCCK. BCCK always emphasizes operations and food to provide the best experience for our guests. We believe that their experience and expertise will bring BCCK to greater heights!” added Eric Van Piggelen, CEO of BCCK.
